Youth and young adults passively learn foundational skills through their engagement and interactions with their peers or indirectly through other adults and life experiences. However, these foundational skills are often not directly taught or purposely reinforced at home, school, or work. Therefore, many youth and young adults do not possess the advanced skills they need to successfully transition into the workforce.

Edverge will help youth and young adults become career-ready and successfully bridge the transition from school to the workforce by acquiring, enhancing, and utilizing advanced personal and professional skills. Through our Edverging Minds initiative, students will gain access to practical workforce skills by following our framework:

​

 

LEARN - Instill new personal and professional skills and elevate existing personal and professional skills in youth and young adults with micro-learning through virtual, self-paced career-readiness courses developed by Team Edverge (See Below). Courses focus on both cognitive and non-cognitive competencies based on current data gathered from resources such as the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

 

DEVELOP - Engage in intentional social and experiential experiences for youth and young adults to practice and model skills acquisition, including our EDLINKS networking opportunities. Participate in targeted, age-appropriate EDTalks, EDChats, EDQuests, and other career readiness events to develop successful habits of mind.

APPLY - Become an Edverging Minds Scholar while utilizing learned skills to successfully transition into the workforce and be successful in their career of choice. Serve as mentors to other youth and young adults, and serve as an ambassador at various local and national events.

​

STACK - Edverge will show participants how to stack skills for optimal value based on their new and elevated skills, knowledge, and experiences through our skills and career mapping once they begin completing micro-learning courses.

​

Our goal is to directly partner with K-12 schools, institutions of higher education, organizations, and programs that directly serve the targeted population to provide age-appropriate, innovative solutions to youth and young adults. We will also accept individual students from non-partner entities.
